Jairo Salcedo, DMD, MMSc

Dr. Jairo Salcedo earned his initial degree from the Universidad Javeriana, in his native Colombia. He then trained at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) in Boston, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and Master of Medical Science in Oral Biology (MMSc) degrees as well as his Advanced Postdoctoral Certification in Prosthodontics.

Prosthodontists are dentistry’s experts in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment planning, restoration, and maintenance of conditions associated with missing or deficient teeth, bite, function, esthetics, and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes. A Prosthodontist is a specialized dentist who received three to four years of additional training after dental school.

Dr. Salcedo treatments range from simple restorations such as tooth color fillings, crowns, veneers, implant crowns, fixed or removable bridges, complete dentures; to  complicated treatments of  the whole mouth. These more involved treatments frequently require the interaction and coordination with different specialists in order to restore the patient’s oral health, appearance and function. Dr. Salcedo is particularly attuned to special needs of patients whose oral problems are complicated by health issues, trauma, medication, and/or physical limitations. Dr. Salcedo also directs the PBP Dental Associates Comprehensive Prevention and Maintenance Program to help patients maintain their dental hygiene, ensure the long-term success of their restorations, and avoid the damaging affects that oral disease can inflict on their systemic health.
